The scope of work for this project is the city planning for new capital of Kazakhstan Astana city and follow-up. The project is enforced by a commission by JICA from the year 2000 to 2001. Following the relocation of the capital, a master plan on redevelopment and expansion of existing urban area are drawn up and overall plan of the city with the population of 800,000 to 1 million is planned. 800 ㎞2 of large regional plan, master plan for new urban area, detail plan for central government business district, new traffic system, guideline for urban design are determined.
Moreover, JICA study team also planned various infrastructure detail plan, economic indicators, and the details on development frameworks and scenarios.
Based on above master plan, preparation of a central part of the city is now being preceded.
